SKILLZ.
WHITE NOISE for now.
Test you skills!
Later this year I will be having a contest that will cover two different areas of Digital Media.
First of the two will be graded in 3D. What is the primary focus? What will be looking at overall is content, design, animation, and last but not least, Software title build and file size. Rules and grading information will be posted later. The main concept of all projects will be the same across the competitors. File size is Very Important. The competition will be held later this year, 2012!!! There will be categories that you can win in, however, Cash Awards will be given for and graded in the areas listed above. 1st Competition will be for YOUR,,,Idea and Design. 2nd Will be in how your project relates to the world as you see it currently 3rd Advertisement of something, doesn't have to be a company or a product. And that is actually preferred. 4th This is a rather unique one in that it has to be something that has to represent something that is a current concern, and easily identified without mentioning, hinting, or using a photo or graphic that can sum it all up with a couple photos or media. Looking for a theme on this one. 5th The Cash Prize Award!! One project will be selected out of the Four groups that are mentioned above to be entered into the contest. The Judges will be selected from a Graphics or Design company who will judge the contest based on the posted rules. | Contest Rules.
The rules are very simple and easy to follow and the only limit to subject matter is up to you. Keep in mind that content is a gradable area. Art and imagination will only be restricted based in your ability to be creative. Format must be in a common file that is widely used and Video platforms are welcome. Material must be your own, and created within one month of the contest. Yes you can use any source available to create and store design material as long as finished product is not compiled to withing 30 days. And this rule is subject to change based on the amount of Confirmed entries. You are allowed no more that 5 entries per contest per individual and 2 entries per institution. There can be no more than 5 developers and any given time on the project. All material after the contest will be Donated to a Charity organization of Aerial RC Photog that benefits disabled children. Cash Prizes are limited to contributor funding and limited to $2,000.00 per event with excess funds if any going the benefit of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, who have absolutely nothing to do with this competition other than receiving donations. Contest and Rules are set forth by Aerial RC Photog, and are subject to change without notice. All participating in the even have to be of legal age or represented by a legal adult. Parent participation is encouraged. Software limitations are limited to one Software company and any of their titles. Once you choose a company you have to use that company for the whole contest. Contest is open to any type Computer, Device, Network, or Machine. And must be viewable/useable on all of those listed machines. All programs must be created with Artist Information embedded for competition grading. So we can tell who did what. Some rules might change, however these are the basic rules, and I plan on these being the only rules but are subject to change based on limitations. The Date if the competition has not been selected yet but the month is tentatively July, towards the end of the month. There will also be a age group category with age range spanning 5-10 years. Boys and Girls are all the same. I will post more information as it becomes available.
Contest Partners, Affiliations, Sponsors are welcome. Its almost like an old story I heard when I was a child. About the pot of stew that started out with a pot of boiling water and a Rock. When everyone added their favorite spice, or ingredient from the local village, the strew was very tasty and satisfying at the end of the day. As with any Village when the children benefit, we are all winners. |
A short story
There is a reason that I donate to Scottish Rite. There are a lot of volunteers that donate time to helping children from all around the world that go there. It's where my son spent the first 18 years of his life. If you haven't been there you need to go for the front door tour. Poke your head on the front door and look around for a few minutes. If your looking for a reason or just need to give your heart a jump start with the feeling if humanity, you need to stop by the Scottish Rite in Dallas and look around at the greatest gifts and challenge met with hope and prosperity and the innocence of a child in need. When I go there I see and experience warm of genuine caring from all walks of life. From Rich and Sharing, to Poor and caring, from the talented to thoughtful determined. You will see everything that is good in society there. True humanitarians. with that said, every time i have a feeling of greatness and life high, the hallways of Scottish Rite come to mind. If you need a uplifting moment in that's the place you are guaranteed to find it. I've seen children from all around the world there at one time or another with there interpreters or host. A truly a great place to visit. If you do go and see crippled children in little red wagons, think Wheelchairs. Those are the children for one reason or another that cant afford to or get one. If you've ever seen my add on Craigslist close to Christmas to donate wheelchairs, they need them. The year before last was a good year. I was able fill in a few donation forms foe other people who where looking for something to do for humanity that year and my adds where answered. That year God must have had that one planned out. There was one particular case where a child was so disabled that his wheel chair would have cost over 20K to purchase. That year I got phone calls fro both sides of the fence. I drove around on fumes it seemed for about 4 hours picking up and dropping off wheelchairs. The total for donations that year in just wheelchairs was over $75,620.00,
